Most of 2018 was tough for crypto investors, and most of 2019 hasn't been great either. However, since April, things have started to look a little positive. From April 10, to May 29, Bitcoin has increased by nearly $4,000. That type of growth has been rare for a long time now. For the first time in a while people within my crypto circles have been starting to discuss whether we're about to enter a bull market.
I don't really think I'm skilled enough to predict the crypto markets at the moment, in fact I'd actually go so far as to say that anybody who truly thinks that technical analysis can help us right now is naive. Cryptocurrency is still far too new of an industry to apply predictive tools to; it doesn't have a long enough history for them to work reliably.
What I will say, however, is that hype can be a powerful factor in-and-of itself, and it's fair to say that people are getting hyped up once again. In the last week I have started to received email newsletters from crypto organisations which I had entirely forgotten about, I've been getting crypto related videos in my YouTube recommendations, and more importantly people who know little about crypto have started asking me about it again. If you check the Cryptocurrency Subreddits then you'll also be able to see people speaking with less skepticism and despondence than usual. People are certainly getting ready.
In the chance that we do enter a bull market, now would be a good time to check that you still have access to your wallets. Whether your wallets are off-line, online ( which is risky), or on an exchange (which is really risky), make sure that you can still get in them. This message is really for anybody who, like me, abstained from doing much investing during late 2018, and chose to ignore their coins and tokens for a few months. I almost had a moment of panic when I thought I had lost the details to my Monero wallet, but luckily I found them buried somewhere on one of my spare USB sticks.
Anyway, the main takeaway here is: check your wallets before the bull market happens (if it happens at all). You don't want to be scrambling to find passwords and seeds at a time when you should be trading!
